Membership and Area Stewards Report for 2009

Area stewards and membership volunteers have the important job of drumming up support for the Lake of Bays Association. Last year, 30 of them attended the June board of directors meeting to kick off the second summer of a focused membership drive.

It was a successful one. Between July and September, stewards and membership volunteers visited 600 residents, members and potential new members. We were rewarded with 70 new members and a total membership of 1,296 in 2009.

The goal of the Membership Committee is to increase the membership of the Lake of Bays Association.  Its volunteers, the area stewards serve as public relations representatives in their Lake of Bays neighbourhood. Their job is to listen, and discuss any issues that Lake of Bays Association members and non-members want to discuss.

They’re also ambassadors for new membership, helping to get people to join the Association, share its benefits and add to its strengths. We’d like to double the number of area stewards we have — would you like to serve as steward for your lakeside road?
