Membership
and Area Stewards Committee
Mandate
The
Committee strives to maintain and increase the membership of LOBA and
our volunteer Area Stewards serve as public relations representatives
for the Lake of Bays Association. Two sub-committees oversee these
services provided to our members.
- Membership renewals and recruitment
- Area Stewards Program
By visiting residents door to door during the peak summer
months,
Area Stewards provide the main communication link between LOBA and the
population it serves. An Area Steward is an advocate of LOBA's mandate
to promote, maintain and enhance a clean, healthy and natural
environment, a well serviced community and a safe, peaceful Lake of
Bays.
Role of an Area Steward:
- To deliver information packages to all residents of Lake of
Bays
- To listen with an open ear and discuss any issues that a
LOBA member, or prospective member, wishes to discuss.
- To recruit new LOBA members
What do I need to know to become an Area Steward?
It is important to have a baseline understanding of the current LOBA
issues so the concerns of the members can be brought forward to the
Board of Directors.
It is also valuable to have knowledge of the Lake of Bays
Association successes as an advocate group so you are able to market
membership and provide concrete rationale for membership.
